Detailed Kajabi Review 2026: Is the Pricing Really Justified?

Kajabi review logo

Verdict

Kajabi is one of the most complete all-in-one platforms for digital creators in 2026. It combines courses, coaching, community, email marketing, websites, funnels, and payments under one login. The product delivery tools are also among the strongest on the market. The pricing, however, is the hardest thing to defend.

Best for: Established coaches and course creators generating consistent revenue who want courses, community, email, funnels, and payments in one platform.

Not for: New creators still validating ideas, businesses with tight margins and global audiences, group program hosts who need 0% transaction fees, or anyone who needs SCORM compliance or advanced LMS features.

Rating: 3.8 / 5

How Kajabi Scores Across the Board

At GroupApp, we use the same six-dimensional framework across all platform reviews.

Every dimension reflects what actually determines whether a platform can support a real creator business, and not just a demo account.

These scores come from our direct platform evaluation, patterns observed across hundreds of creator migrations, and consolidated feedback from Trustpilot, G2, Capterra, and Reddit.

DimensionScoreWhat this means
Ease of setup4.1 / 5Fast product creation and logical navigation. The learning curve exists but is manageable.

What Makes This Kajabi Review Different

GroupApp has spent the last 8 years working with coaches, educators, and course creators to build real learning businesses.

We’ve helped people migrate off platforms where limits became a ceiling and built our own platform to solve the problems that kept showing up across hundreds of creator businesses.

This Kajabi platform review 2026 breaks down what features cost in practice, where the limits live, and when a Kajabi subscription makes sense versus when it becomes an expensive overhead.

The pricing data comes from Kajabi’s official pricing page and help center documentation.

The user feedback is embedded under the features they describe, sourced from Trustpilot, G2, Reddit, and Capterra.

What Is Kajabi?

kajabi homepage

Kajabi is an all-in-one digital business platform for creators, coaches, and educators.

Kenny Rueter and Travis Rosser founded Kajabi LLC in 2009 in Irvine, California.

The founding problem was concrete: Rueter built a DIY PVC sprinkler toy for his kids and tried to sell a short how-to video online, but he couldn’t do it without a developer, multiple tools, and weeks of setup.

Together, Reuter and Rosser built Kajabi to let creators sell knowledge without writing code or assembling multiple tools.

Since 2009, Kajabi has processed over $6.5 billion in creator revenue.

Tens of thousands of knowledge businesses use the platform, from solo coaches to well-known creator-economy figures like Justin Welsh, who has referenced Kajabi as a core infrastructure component of his newsletter, course, and community business.

Kajabi is a legitimate, established platform with a 15-year operating history.

Kajabi Pricing 2026 Review

Kajabi pricing is the most searched, most misunderstood, and most complained-about aspect of the platform.

The headline numbers are straightforward, but what sits beneath them isn’t.

This section covers the plan prices, product and contact limits, payment processing surcharges, and the January 2026 restructure that changed the cost calculation for every Kajabi customer.

Current Kajabi Plans and Pricing

kajabi pricing page showing basic, growth, and pro plans

Kajabi restructured its pricing in January 2026, starting with removing the Kickstarter plan from public listing. Every remaining plan increased

Here are the current Kajabi pricing plans as confirmed from kajabi.com/pricing:

PlanMonthly billingAnnual billing
Kickstarter (not publicly listed)$89/monthN/A
Basic$179/month$143/month
Growth$249/month$199/month
Pro$499/month$399/month

The $89-per-month Kickstarter plan still exists, but isn’t displayed on the main Kajabi pricing page.

While you can access it through specific signup links, it limits you to one product, 250 contacts, and one website.

Creators outgrow it within weeks.

The effective entry price for a real Kajabi business is $179 per month for Basic or $143 per month on annual billing.

The January 2026 Pricing Restructure and Backlash

Before January 2026, the Kajabi Growth plan cost $159 per month billed annually. The restructure raised it to $199 per month, a 25% increase.

Pro jumped from $319 to $399 per month on annual billing.

Worst of all, Kajabi didn’t grandfather legacy customers at their previous rates, so long-term subscribers who’d been on Growth for 2, 3, or 4 years saw their bills increase with no new features tied to it.

The Kajabi Reddit community, creator Facebook groups, and Trustpilot saw significant negative activity in January and February 2026.

A Change.org petition circulated online.

Trustpilot one-star reviews spiked in January 2026, the most concentrated single-month pattern in recent platform history.

For context: a creator on Growth since 2022, paying $159 per month annually, was paying $1,908 per year.

But after January 2026, the same plan costs $2,388 per year, which is $480 more annually for the same feature set.

“There was also a significant recent price increase, and at that point I decided it was no longer practical for me to continue.” Trustpilot reviewer, May 22 2026

Product and Contact Limits: The Upgrade Trap

The 5-product limit on the Basic plan is the most common reason creators upgrade to Growth before they have the revenue to justify the cost.

What counts as one product toward your limit?

A self-paced online course, a cohort-based course, a 1-on-1 coaching program, a group coaching program, a community membership, a digital download product (ebook, template, PDF), a paid newsletter subscription, and a podcast.

Each counts separately, though.

A creator running two courses, one community membership, and one coaching program has already used four of five Basic slots before building a single lead magnet or free community.

The 2,500-contact limit on Basic is the second forcing function.

Contacts include everyone who has purchased a product, opted in through a landing page, joined a free community, or registered for a lead magnet.

A creator running active email marketing campaigns and a free community opt-in can hit 2,500 contacts within months.

The Growth plan adds 22,500 more contacts at a 39% higher monthly cost.

The effective minimum for a creator running a real multi-product digital business on Kajabi is the Growth plan.

The Basic plan functions as an expensive trial for the plan most creators will actually need.

The Payment Fees Kajabi Doesn’t Advertise

Kajabi advertises 0% transaction fees, which is technically true only for platform-level commission fees.

But it says nothing about the processing fees you pay on every transaction through Kajabi Payments, the additional subscription surcharge, the international card penalty, or the Buy Now Pay Later surcharge.

Here’s the complete real fee structure.

PlanKajabi Payments base rateReal rate on subscriptions (+0.7%)Real rate on international subscriptions (+1.5%)
Basic2.9% + $0.303.6% + $0.305.1% + $0.30
Growth2.8% + $0.303.5% + $0.305.0% + $0.30
Pro2.7% + $0.303.4% + $0.304.9% + $0.30

The 0.7% subscription surcharge applies to every recurring payment and every payment plan installment.

Kajabi documents this in its help center, but doesn’t surface it on the main pricing page.

For a creator selling a $97-per-month membership on the Basic plan, the real effective rate is 3.6% + $0.30, not 2.9%.

On 100 active subscribers, that difference is approximately $97 in processing fees per month, more than the headline rate suggests.

Over 12 months: $1,164 in fees, the pricing page does not make it obvious.

Buy Now, Pay Later through Afterpay or Klarna incurs a 6% + $0.30 per transaction fee on all plans.

For a $997 course sold through BNPL on Basic, Kajabi takes $60.42 in processing fees.

On a platform with 0% transaction fees and standard Stripe rates, the same sale costs $29.20 in processing.

The difference is $31.22 per transaction, or $3,122 per 100 BNPL sales.

The Third-Party Processor Surcharge

If you use your own Stripe account with Kajabi instead of Kajabi Payments, the platform charges an additional surcharge on top of what Stripe charges.

PayPal is exempt from this surcharge, though.

Creators in countries where Kajabi Payments is not yet available are also exempt and pay only Stripe’s standard rates.

PlanKajabi surchargeStripe standard rateYour real total
Basic2%2.9% + $0.304.9% + $0.30
Growth1%2.9% + $0.303.9% + $0.30
Pro0.5%2.9% + $0.303.4% + $0.30

At $3,000 per month in sales revenue on Basic with your own Stripe account, the 2% Kajabi surcharge costs $60 per month, or $720 per year, purely because of the processor choice.

At $3,000 per month on the same plan through a platform with 0% transaction fees, the processing cost is $87 per month.

The $33-per-month difference ($396 per year) is entirely the Kajabi choice.

The Kajabi Payments Lock-In

This is the highest-stakes hidden cost in Kajabi’s payment model, and almost no Kajabi review article covers it.

If you run your subscription memberships through Kajabi Payments and later decide to migrate to another platform, your subscribers’ payment details are stored in Kajabi’s payment processor.

Moving them to a new processor requires them to re-enter payment information.

Multiple reviews describe losing 15-25% of subscribers during this transition because they don’t complete the re-enrollment step.

For a creator with 200 active subscribers at $97 per month, a 20% dropout represents $3,880 in lost monthly recurring revenue at the moment of migration.

“They introduced “Kajabi Payments” which is basically Stripe but you’re kind of forced into it and if you leave Kajabi, you lose all your subscription customers.” Trustpilot reviewer, January 12 2026

Creators who use their own Stripe account with Kajabi retain ownership of the customer payment relationships and avoid this migration risk.

Stripe subscriptions are portable, but the trade-off is the ongoing 0.5% to 2% Kajabi surcharge.

Treat that surcharge as the premium for maintaining payment portability.

What Kajabi Replaces

The strongest argument for Kajabi pricing is that it replaces a stack of individual tools that cost significantly more when purchased separately.

Tool replacedStandalone cost
Thinkific Start (course platform)$99/month
Kit / ConvertKit (email, 5,000 contacts)$79/month
Leadpages (landing pages)$49/month
Circle Basic (community)$89/month
Calendly Pro (scheduling)$20/month
SamCart Launch (checkout)$79/month
Zapier Professional (automation)$49/month
Total separate stack cost$464/month
Kajabi Growth (annual)$199/month
Annual saving$3,180/year

At $199 per month on the Growth plan with annual billing, Kajabi represents genuine value if you use all those product categories.

The math stops working when you only need two or three of the tools Kajabi includes.

A creator who only needs a course platform and basic email doesn’t save $265 per month by switching to Kajabi.

Kajabi Review: User Experience

Kajabi’s dashboard is clean, logically organized, and loads fast.

The myKajabi interface at app.kajabi.com keeps product creation tools at the top of the left sidebar, followed by sales, marketing, and analytics.

That ordering matches how most creators actually work: build first, then market, then measure.

The Kajabi admin login takes you to a home overview that shows recent revenue, opt-in rates, active member counts, and page views.

The overview gives a pulse reading in under 30 seconds, while tools sit inside collapsible dropdown menus in the sidebar.

Kajabi avoids the density problem that makes Kartra overwhelming at first contact, as everything is accessible with just 2 clicks.

What to Expect on the First 30 Days on Kajabi

Week 1 is about platform architecture.

During this time, you learn a suite of interconnected tools with separate workflows. Product creation, website building, funnel setup, email sequences, and automation rules are all distinct sections with their own interfaces.

Week 2 is when the integration value becomes tangible.

When you create a course, connect it to a checkout, and set up a purchase automation, the enrollment confirmation, welcome email, and access grant all happen through connected workflows.

This is the core Kajabi promise: one platform, one set of connections, no integrations to manage.

Weeks 3 and 4 are when creators hit the ceiling.

The landing page builder doesn’t allow pixel-level control over elements, the community space looks like every other Kajabi community, and the email templates look dated. These are the moments when the research into alternatives begins.

The Kajabi dashboard improves significantly once you understand how the left sidebar is structured.

Products, Website, Marketing, People, Analytics, and Settings each contain the related tools.

The navigation is hierarchical, and once you learn it, you’ll find it to be quite fast.

Most experienced Kajabi users report that the platform feels natural and efficient after the first month.

Creator Studio With Kajabi AI

Creator Studio is Kajabi’s AI-assisted content workspace, available on all plans.

With it, you can generate a course curriculum outline from a topic description. Input a course title and a brief summary, and the AI produces a suggested module and lesson structure.

For creators starting from a blank page, this removes the initial friction of building a curriculum framework.

The AI-generated outline is just a starting point, though.

It’s generic and requires human editing to reflect a specific methodology or brand voice.

The value lies in time savings on structure rather than content quality.

Email subject line suggestions and landing page copy drafts are also available.

Its quality, however, is comparable to other AI writing tools that are useful for first drafts, but need editing for anything brand-specific.

“The initial setup was pretty easy with not much to do, which I appreciated.” G2 reviewer, April 2026

Kajabi Review: Digital Products

Kajabi supports six product types natively:

  • Communities
  • Coaching programs
  • Online courses
  • Podcasts
  • Newsletters
  • Digital downloads

Each is a first-class product with its own dedicated builder, delivery infrastructure, and analytics.

The breadth of what you can sell through Kajabi is strong, and the depth of each product type varies: courses and coaching are strongest, while podcasts and downloads are most basic.

1. Kajabi Community Features

Kajabi Community 2.0 is a significant upgrade from the platform’s earlier community tools.

The current community interface includes threaded discussions, group chats, challenges, gamification with leaderboards and badges, live rooms, event scheduling with RSVP, and access groups for tiered membership experiences.

Access Groups: Tiered Membership Without Multiple Products

Access Groups let you segment community members by tier, purchase status, or any custom criteria. You can create unlimited access groups on all plans.

A free-tier member can see public discussions and attend basic events; a standard paid-tier member accesses the core curriculum and weekly group calls; while a premium-tier member gets access to exclusive coaching sessions and advanced workshops.

All of this happens within a single community infrastructure, without building separate communities or products.

The Kajabi community vs Facebook Groups comparison on access control goes like this: Kajabi wins decisively, while a Facebook Group can’t natively segment members by purchase status or offer level. You have to manage that manually, removing members from groups and adding them to others as they upgrade.

In Kajabi, access group assignment happens automatically when a member purchases the corresponding offer.

Live Rooms, Gamification, and Challenges

The Live button in the community sidebar lets you start an instant live room session with one click. When you hit the button, a notification goes to community members.

livestream on Kajabi

For spontaneous Q&A sessions and community check-ins, the instant live feature is one of the best features in Kajabi’s community toolkit.

Gamification awards points for posts, comments, event attendance, and course completions. Points accumulate on a community leaderboard, creating visible social proof for the most active members.

Challenges run time-bound participation events where members complete tasks and submit proof.

The gamification on Kajabi is lighter than Skool’s but effective for accountability-based communities.

Community Limitations Worth Naming

Community customization is limited.

You can add a cover image, select a brand color, and toggle between light and dark mode, but you can’t change the layout, restructure navigation, add custom CSS, or apply a theme that looks different from any other Kajabi community.

For a premium program charging $1,000 or more per year, the visual sameness is a positioning problem.

Community-first platforms like GroupApp offer full theme control, custom CSS, and layout flexibility that Kajabi does not match.

Moderation is also manual.

You won’t find profanity filters, spam detection, or automated flagging. You and your moderation team must review every report manually.

At small community sizes, this is manageable, but at 500 or more active members, manual moderation becomes a significant operational overhead.

The plan limit on communities is a real constraint.

The Basic and Growth plans support only one community, while the Pro plan allows three.

For creators who want to run separate communities for different programs (a beginner cohort, an advanced membership, and a free public group), the Pro plan at $499 per month is the requirement.

2. Kajabi Coaching Product

Kajabi treats coaching as a first-class product type.

This distinction sets it apart from Teachable, Thinkific, and Podia, all of which treat coaching as an add-on or leave you to manage it through Zoom and Calendly.

The Kajabi coaching product is the strongest single-tool implementation of a coaching delivery infrastructure in the all-in-one platform category.

The Kajabi Scheduler is the platform’s native booking tool.

It manages availability windows, session durations, buffer times, and advance booking rules. It also syncs bidirectionally with Google Calendar and Outlook, preventing scheduling conflicts.

If you book a coaching session in Kajabi, your Google Calendar automatically blocks that time.

Calendly integration is also available for creators who prefer Calendly’s booking flow, and the session still records inside Kajabi.

Video conferencing in Kajabi is built in, with sessions for up to 200 participants.

That covers 1-on-1 coaching, small group sessions, workshops, and accountability calls without a separate Zoom account.

The native video interface works in the browser without a plugin, so clients join without downloading anything.

Each coaching session supports a structured context: session description, agenda items, shared notes, and resource links.

What’s more, notes persist across all sessions in the coaching product, giving both the coach and the client a complete session history in one place.

Automatic recording and replay storage attaches replays to the specific session without requiring a manual export-upload-share workflow.

Automation integrates with the coaching product in practical ways. Onboarding emails trigger when a client enrolls.

Session reminders are sent 24 hours before a scheduled call, and post-session follow-up sequences are delivered automatically.

The coaching product effectively replaces Zoom, Calendly, a basic client portal, and a standalone drip email sequence for the coaching delivery workflow.

3. Online Course Builder

The Kajabi course builder is one of the platform’s strongest features and one of the best self-paced course tools in the all-in-one category.

Courses are structured into modules, submodules, and lessons.

Kajabi course builder

The curriculum builder is intuitive with drag-drop reordering, inline renaming, and a clean hierarchy view that shows the full course structure at a glance.

Content types inside lessons include native video (hosted by Kajabi with unlimited storage), text, audio, PDF downloads, quiz elements, and HTML embeds.

Lesson downloads let students access supplementary files, such as templates and worksheets, directly from the lesson view, while live sessions embed directly into the course curriculum via Kajabi Live Rooms for up to 200 participants.

Your session recordings are automatically stored in the course for replay.

What’s Included in Kajabi Video Hosting?

Kajabi video hosting is native and unlimited on all plans.

The native player supports playback speed control (0.5x to 2x), closed captions via SRT file upload, and a full-screen mode. Upload times are fast, and playback is reliable.

The only limitation is that third-party video embedding from Wistia or Vimeo does not work cleanly in Kajabi’s primary video slot.

If you embed iframe code from an external video host, it renders in the lesson body text area rather than the hero video player.

Themes that expect a hero video show an empty placeholder with the embedded video pushed below.

Creators with existing Wistia or Vimeo libraries who want to preserve their external hosting will face layout friction.

Cohort Courses on Kajabi

Cohort-based courses, where a group of students starts together on a set date and moves through time-released content on a shared schedule, require the Growth or Pro plan.

Basic plan users can only run self-paced courses, which is one of the sharpest feature restrictions in Kajabi’s plan architecture.

For coaches and educators who run structured programs with defined start and end dates, this feature lock forces a Growth plan upgrade before the business may be ready.

A first-cohort creator generating $3,000 from a launch before the course starts cannot run that cohort natively on a $179 Basic plan.

They need Growth at $249 per month, an additional $70 per month before their first student logs in.

Quizzes, Completion Enforcement, and Certificates

Kajabi supports quizzes with multiple-choice, checkbox, short-answer, and file-upload question types.

You can enforce a passing grade threshold on any quiz, blocking lesson advancement until the student demonstrates competence.

Course completion certificates are available on all plans and are issued automatically when a student finishes the final lesson.

What Kajabi lacks is SCORM compliance, xAPI integration, gradebooks, interactive video assessments, or instructor assignment review workflows.

Organizations with LMS infrastructure requiring SCORM-packaged content cannot use Kajabi for that delivery, while corporate training programs and institutional providers need dedicated LMS platforms.

Is Kajabi an LMS?

Kajabi is often described as an LMS, but it’s more accurately a digital business platform with course-delivery capabilities.

A full LMS (Docebo, TalentLMS, Moodle) provides SCORM and xAPI compliance, detailed learner progress reports at the individual level, gradebooks, instructor assignment review, and organizational admin controls for corporate training.

Kajabi provides none of these.

What Kajabi provides that aligns with creator-focused LMS needs is course enrollment management, content gating, completion tracking, certificate issuance, quiz administration, and lesson-level engagement data.

For creators selling self-improvement courses and professional development programs, Kajabi is sufficient as a learning delivery platform.

But for regulated or institutional training contexts, it’s not.

4. Kajabi Newsletters and Podcasts

Kajabi’s newsletter product is a direct Substack replacement for creators who want to monetize their writing inside their existing platform.

You can package the newsletter as a product with free and paid tiers, set the subscription price, and publish posts that reach subscribers as emails.

The newsletter editor uses a rich-text interface with bullets, headings, CTA buttons, and video embeds from YouTube, TikTok, and X.

The paywall snippet is the most strategically useful feature: it displays the first section of a post publicly and locks the rest behind a paid subscription.

There are also newsletter analytics that track open rates, click-through rates, bounce rates, and spam complaints.

However, A/B testing isn’t available for newsletter sends, so you can’t split-test subject lines or content variations.

Compare that to Substack, Beehiiv, and Kit, all of which offer subject-line testing that Kajabi’s newsletter product doesn’t match.

When it comes to Kajabi podcasts, hosting generates an RSS feed for distribution to Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts, and other directories.

You can upload audio files, write episode descriptions, and distribute from the Kajabi dashboard.

Reviews from creators are positive for integration simplicity and critical for analytics depth.

For creators who treat podcast analytics as a primary performance signal, dedicated podcast platforms like Buzzsprout or Transistor provide more data.

5. Digital Downloads

Digital downloads on Kajabi handle ebooks, templates, guides, spreadsheets, and any file sold as a standalone or bundled product.

Funnel builder templates

The setup is pretty straightforward, as you only need to upload, price, connect to checkout, and the delivery automation handles the rest.

Dedicated platforms like Gumroad are purpose-built for simple digital product sales with a marketplace for discovery.

So while Kajabi makes sense when downloads are one type among several products, Gumroad remains suitable when downloads are the only product, and you’re not ready for a $179-per-month platform.

Kajabi Review:  Marketing and Sales Tools

Kajabi’s marketing tools are the core of its all-in-one value proposition.

They cover the full creator funnel: website, landing pages, sales funnels, email marketing, automation, checkout, payments, and affiliate programs.

In my opinion, these tools are good enough to replace separate tools for most creator businesses, but they don’t replace best-in-class specialists.

Kajabi email isn’t ActiveCampaign, Kajabi funnels aren’t ClickFunnels, and Kajabi websites are nothing close to Webflow.

But they still get the job done really well.

1. Kajabi Website Builder Review

Kajabi doesn’t host websites, and the website builder covers the basics for most creator businesses.

The most impressive thing, though, is that all paid plans include a custom domain connection, so your site runs at your domain, not a kajabi.com subdomain.

That’s table stakes for a professional platform.

The 17 free theme templates are functional and cover the core business page types for creators.

Kajabi website templates

Yet several templates look dated against 2026 web design standards, but the premium template marketplace addresses this with third-party-designed themes priced from $100 to $900.

A $500 Kajabi template competing with a $79 Webflow template that looks significantly more modern is a hard value proposition if you ask me.

The page builder is section-based.

Prebuilt sections (hero areas, feature cards, testimonials, FAQ accordions, opt-in forms) snap into place via drag-and-drop.

You can customize colors, fonts, button styles, and block widths through a settings panel, but the builder doesn’t support pixel-level positioning, element overlapping, or complex broken-grid layouts without custom CSS.

That’s only available on the Pro plan through the Custom Code Editor.

The Kajabi Widgets add-on extends design options with comparison tables, pricing tables, image carousels, and other elements. These cost $5 to $27 per month, depending on quantity.

Adding Widgets to a Growth plan at $199 per month means paying $204 to $226 per month before processor fees.

For a platform at this price tier, gating design components behind an additional subscription is a frustrating architecture decision.

2. Kajabi Landing Page Builder

Kajabi offers unlimited landing pages on all plans.

The landing page builder uses the same section-based editor as the website, too, and templates cover the core creator formats: opt-in pages, sales pages, webinar registration pages, thank-you pages, and content upgrade pages.

Connecting a landing page to an email sequence and product access grant is where Kajabi’s integration delivers its best performance.

You build the page, set the opt-in to trigger a tag, connect the tag to an automation sequence, and the full flow is live in under an hour.

Building the same flow across separate Leadpages, ConvertKit, and Thinkific accounts requires configuring three separate connections.

A/B testing on individual landing pages is available on Growth and Pro plans.

You can test two versions against each other and let the winning version receive majority traffic automatically, which is useful for creators optimizing opt-in pages for lead generation campaigns.

3. Kajabi Sales Funnels

Sales funnels use pre-built Blueprint templates.

8+ Blueprint types cover product launches, lead magnet opt-ins, webinar campaigns, coaching applications, and sales pages.

Choosing a Blueprint auto-generates the full funnel structure: a landing page, a pre-written email sequence, a sales page, and a checkout offer, all connected and linked in order.

The Blueprints are the best speed-to-launch feature in Kajabi’s marketing suite. What takes two to three days of setup in a standalone funnel builder can be compressed into a few hours of customization work in the Blueprint system.

The limitations are evident compared to dedicated funnel platforms.

Kajabi doesn’t support conditional splits (routing visitors based on traffic source or behavioral tag).

This means cold traffic from your TikTok and warm traffic from your email list get the same funnel treatment.

In Kartra or ClickFunnels, conditional logic routes them differently based on where they came from.

Full-funnel A/B testing isn’t supported either. Individual landing page tests are available, but no two complete funnel versions have been split-tested against each other.

4. Kajabi Email Marketing

Email marketing is a core feature on Kajabi.

The built-in Kajabi email marketing system covers broadcasts, automated sequences, a drag-and-drop email editor, A/B testing for broadcasts, list segmentation by tags and custom fields, and behavioral-triggered automations. It’s the most complete native email marketing system in the all-in-one course platform category.

The Kajabi email marketing editor is a drag-and-drop block builder supporting images, videos, countdown timers, CTA buttons, dividers, and custom HTML.

Mobile preview is available inside the editor, and while the 19+ design templates are functional, they’re a bit visually dated compared to modern email platforms.

Plain-text emails often outperform designed templates for creator businesses anyway, so the design gap matters less in practice.

Kajabi Email Marketing Automation (What You Can and Can’t Build)

Kajabi marketing automation uses a When/Then rule builder.

  • Triggers include: product purchased, course completed, lesson completed, quiz passed, form submitted, tag added, tag removed, event registered, and trial started.
  • Actions include: send email, add tag, remove tag, grant product access, revoke access, and delay.

The linear logic is easy to understand and fast to build, and you don’t need experience with visual automation builders to create a functional onboarding sequence.

That means A 7-email onboarding sequence for a new course purchase will take you 30 to 60 minutes to build from scratch.

What you can’t build in Kajabi automations is conditional branches.

You can’t create decision-tree logic where subscribers receive different follow-ups based on whether they opened an email, clicked a specific link, or visited a specific page.

Kajabi automations are linear sequences with delays, so they respond to triggers but don’t branch based on behavioral signals mid-sequence.

Compared to platforms like GetResponse that support conditional automation branches, website event tracking, predictive sending, and advanced segmentation based on web behavior, Kajabi’s automation is simpler and covers most cases.

Broadcast A/B Testing and List Management

Kajabi supports A/B testing on email broadcasts, so you can test subject lines, preview text, or entirely different email body designs.

The platform sends both versions to a sample, waits for a winner-determination period based on open rate or click rate, then automatically sends the winning version to the remaining list.

Having broadcast A/B testing available on the Growth plan and above is a meaningful differentiator for creators who run regular email campaigns and want performance data.

List management in Kajabi handles CSV import, custom field mapping, tags, and segments.

The email marketing dashboard shows open rates, click rates, unsubscribe rates, and bounce rates per send.

Revenue attribution links specific purchases back to email campaigns, which helps creators understand which sequences drive conversions.

5. Enhanced Checkout and Payment Processing

Kajabi’s Enhanced Checkout works like the landing page builder. You get full-page customization with fonts, backgrounds, color schemes, and 15+ block types, including videos, countdown timers, testimonial sections, and FAQ elements.

The platform also offers multiple pricing options within a single checkout block, such as one-time purchase, subscription, and installment plans.

A shopping cart lets buyers add multiple products and complete one transaction.

Order bumps, one-click upsells, and downsells are available directly on checkout pages, and checkout placement options include a standalone page and a modal popup triggered from any page button.

The platform, however, doesn’t support inline checkouts embedded into external pages.

Kajabi Payments processes cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Afterpay, Klarna, and Cash App Pay. Automatic tax calculation handles VAT and sales tax for supported regions. It also syncs with QuickBooks Online and Xero for accounting reconciliation.

6. Kajabi Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate programs are available on the Growth and Pro plans in Kajabi.

You can create a program for a specific offer, set the commission rate (flat amount or percentage), and Kajabi generates unique tracking links for each affiliate. You can also track affiliate performance in the Kajabi marketing dashboard.

Affiliate payouts, however, require a manual step: while Kajabi calculates the commission and records it, the actual transfer to affiliates happens via PayPal, bank transfer, or another method outside the platform.

For large affiliate programs with dozens of active partners, this is an operational overhead that dedicated affiliate platforms like PartnerStack handle automatically.

Kajabi Review: Webinar and Live Events

Kajabi webinar capabilities use the Live Rooms feature

A Kajabi Live Room supports up to 200 participants, and you can schedule a live event, embed it inside a course as a session, or open it to community members through the Live button. Participants join directly in the browser without downloading a separate app.

Including 200 participants covers coaching cohorts, group programs, and live Q&A sessions, but it doesn’t cover large-scale webinar launches where audiences of 500 to 5,000 are standard.

For high-attendance webinars, I’d recommend Zoom Webinars, Demio, or WebinarKit alongside Kajabi.

Kajabi also lacks a dedicated standalone webinar product.

Live Rooms are a platform feature rather than a dedicated webinar hosting tool, so creators who build their primary sales model around live webinar funnels will need a dedicated webinar tool and connect it to Kajabi through Zapier for enrollment and delivery.

Kajabi Review: AI Features

Kajabi AI in 2026 refers primarily to Creator Studio, available on all plans.

Creator Studio generates course curriculum outlines from topic prompts, drafts email subject lines and body content, suggests landing page copy, and creates community post ideas.

The AI tools are content-generation utilities, not workflow intelligence or performance optimization tools.

Video transcription and AI-powered translation into 30+ languages are Pro-only features.

On Basic and Growth plans, you can upload SRT caption files manually, but you can’t use the native transcription engine.

For creators building multilingual course libraries or accessibility-focused programs, the Pro plan at $499 per month is the requirement for automated transcription.

Compared to AI capabilities on platforms like LearnWorlds, which offer AI-generated quizzes from uploaded content and interactive video AI, Kajabi’s AI integration is more limited.

For a general, all-in-one platform serving non-technical creators, Creator Studio adequately covers the most common AI use cases in the creator economy.

Kajabi Review: Mobile App and Branded App

Kajabi has two distinct mobile products:

  • The Kajabi Customer App is the learner-facing app available to all students on all paid plans
  • The Kajabi Branded Mobile App is a white-labeled version with your business name, colors, and branding listed in the App Store and Google Play under your account.

The Kajabi Customer App is included on all plans at no extra cost, so your students can use it to access courses, participate in community discussions, watch live sessions, attend coaching calls, and receive push notifications.

It’s also available on iOS via the App Store and on Android via Google Play, and the student experience is clean and consistent with the desktop course portal.

The Kajabi Branded Mobile App is a white-labeled version with your business branding in the App Store and Play Store listings.

On the Growth and Pro plans, a branded app is included with a stated value of $199 per month, but it remains unavailable on the Basic plan.

The branded app setup process takes five to six weeks, which is longer than the two-week timeline suggested in some Kajabi marketing materials.

If you’re charging $1,000 or more per year for a program, having a dedicated app listed in the App Store under your business name is a brand credibility signal.

Prospects may ask whether the program has an app during sales conversations, so a “YES” sets you apart from web-only competitors.

“Criteo’s Global Commerce Review found conversion rates are three times higher in apps than on mobile websites, and apps account for 70% or more of mobile sales for retailers with both a shopping app and a mobile website.  Source: https://www.criteo.com/consumer-insights-dashboard/

Kajabi Review: Analytics

Kajabi analytics covers revenue, sales, email performance, opt-in rates, page views, video engagement, community activity, and course progress.

The dashboard shows aggregate metrics across all these dimensions, and the reporting is sufficient for daily creator decisions.

Course analytics show aggregate enrollment counts and lesson completion rates.

You can see that 40% of enrolled students completed Module 3, but you can’t build a report showing which specific students are stuck or generate a grade breakdown by assessment. You won’t get the same level of individual learner progress tracking as Thinkific or LearnWorlds provides.

For email marketing analytics, the Kajabi email marketing dashboard includes open rates, click rates, unsubscribes, and bounces per send.

Revenue attribution links purchases back to specific email campaigns and sequences, and funnel analytics show conversion rates at each stage of a Blueprint funnel.

The most common reporting gap in creator feedback is that Kajabi analytics are primarily aggregate. You see overall trends, not segmented performance by traffic source, audience cohort, or acquisition channel.

For creators running paid advertising and wanting attribution data that traces a purchase back to a specific ad or keyword, Kajabi’s native analytics are insufficient without external tools like Google Analytics or Triple Whale.

Kajabi Review: Third-Party Integrations

Kajabi has 13 direct native integrations: Mailchimp, AWeber, Segment, Stripe, PayPal, ConvertKit, Drip, ActiveCampaign, Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, Zapier, Zoom, and QuickBooks/Xero.

13 is a thin number for a platform at $249 per month, given that WordPress has thousands of plugins and Shopify has thousands of apps.

Zapier bridges the gap substantially.

Through Zapier, Kajabi connects to thousands of external tools. Common workflows: sending purchase data to HubSpot, creating Notion pages on lesson completion, notifying Slack on new student enrollment, and logging transactions to a Google Sheets revenue tracker.

The connections are reliable but operate on polling intervals rather than real-time triggers.

Webhooks on Growth and Pro provide real-time bidirectional data movement.

You can send Kajabi events to an external system instantly (a lesson completion firing to a custom CRM) or receive data into Kajabi from external sources (a custom checkout granting Kajabi product access via inbound webhook).

The Kajabi API on Growth and Pro covers contact management, offer assignment, subscription tracking, purchase history, and lifecycle automation.

But the API doesn’t allow programmatic creation or modification of courses, pricing, offers, checkout flows, or the user interface.

That scope limitation means the API is useful for reporting and access management, and not for building fully custom product delivery systems on top of Kajabi.

Kajabi Review: Customer Support and Resources

Kajabi provides multiple layers of support resources for creators.

Live Chat Support

Live chat is available 24/7 through the Kajabi dashboard, but response times vary.

During US business hours, first responses typically arrive within 5-15 minutes, while wait times extend to 30-60 minutes or longer during off-hours and peak periods.

Complex technical issues are sometimes escalated to email follow-up, which extends resolution time to 24-48 hours.

N.B: There’s no customer service phone number for standard accounts

Kajabi Help Center

The Kajabi Help Center at help.kajabi.com is the first stop for feature questions, setup instructions, and troubleshooting common issues.

The search function is effective for finding specific workflows, and articles include screenshots and step-by-step instructions.

Coverage is broad but occasionally lacks depth for edge cases and advanced configurations.

Kajabi University

Kajabi University is the deeper training resource that contains structured learning paths for Getting Started, Course Creation, Community Building, Email Marketing, Funnels and Sales, and Analytics. Each path includes multiple videos covering the topic from setup through advanced use.

New users who complete the Getting Started path before building their first product report significantly fewer support contacts than those who skip the training.

Kajabi Pros and Cons

Pros
  • All-in-one consolidation: courses, coaching, community, email, funnels, and payments under one login eliminate separate tool subscriptions
  • Coaching product is best-in-class for scheduling, session management, live video, and replay storage in the all-in-one category
  • Blueprint funnel templates enable fast funnel setup without technical configuration
  • Branded mobile app is included in Growth and Pro without a separate purchase or subscription
  • Email marketing automation connects product events to behavioral email triggers
  • Enhanced Checkout with cart, order bumps, upsells, multiple pricing options, and BNPL support
  • Community 2.0 with access groups, live rooms, gamification, and event RSVPs
  • Podcast hosting with RSS distribution included on all plans
  • 24/7 live chat support with comprehensive Kajabi University training library
  • A/B testing on broadcast emails available from Growth plan
  • Native video hosting with unlimited storage on all plans
  • 30-day full platform access with no credit card required for evaluation
  • Creator Studio AI for curriculum outlines, email drafts, and landing page copy
Cons
  • January 2026 pricing restructure raised Growth 25% annually with no grandfathering for existing customers
  • The real entry price for a working business is $249/month, not $179/month on Basic
  • Hidden 0.7% subscription surcharge on every recurring payment not shown on the pricing page
  • 1.5% international card surcharge creates compounding costs for global-audience creators
  • Kajabi Payments lock-in causes 15-25% subscriber churn when migrating to another platform
  • Cohort courses, video transcriptions, branded app, API, advanced automations, and affiliate programs all require Growth or Pro
  • No SCORM compliance, no gradebooks, no individual learner progress tracking at scale
  • Community customization is shallow: cover image and brand color only, no layout control
  • No automated community moderation, no profanity filtering, spam detection, or content flagging
  • One community on Basic and Growth, three on Pro only
  • Only 13 direct third-party integrations
  • No native SMS marketing tool
  • Website builder limited in design flexibility: no pixel positioning, no broken-grid layouts without Pro custom code
  • Premium marketplace templates cost $100-$900 for designs that competitive platforms include free
  • No phone support and live chat does not address all global time zones equitably
  • Reporting is mostly aggregate with limited attribution analytics for paid traffic campaigns
  • Widgets add-on adds $5-$27/month for design elements that should be included in a $249/month plan

GroupApp: The Best Kajabi Alternative for Group Programs

GroupApp community space on desktop and branded app

Kajabi’s three biggest gaps in the group learning context are the exact problems GroupApp was built to solve.

Limited community customization, hidden subscription surcharges that compound on every recurring payment, and feature locks that require the Growth plan before you can run cohort courses, use advanced automations, or offer affiliates.

GroupApp is the group learning platform built specifically for coaching and training programs.

It combines structured course delivery with quizzes, graded assignments, automated certificates, and full learner progress tracking inside a community that runs on your own branded domain.

Where Kajabi charges 2.9% plus $0.30 per transaction on Basic, and a 0.7% subscription surcharge on every recurring payment, GroupApp charges 0% transaction fees across all plans.

Where GroupApp stands out from Kajabi is with group subscriptions, because that’s the feature that closes corporate clients. One manager purchases a group subscription, and the whole team gets access immediately.

For example, instead of selling 20 individual seats at $97 each, you sell one organizational subscription at a price point that reflects the full value of the program.

The manager also controls the seats, while you collect a single payment and never touch billing again. Compare that to Kajabi, where every team member pays individually, which turns a simple corporate sale into a procurement nightmare.

If your target audience includes corporate clients, leadership development teams, or organizations running structured training programs, GroupApp handles this natively, but Kajabi doesn’t.

At $5,000 per month in subscription revenue on Kajabi Growth, the subscription surcharge alone is $35 per month, or $420 per year, on top of the platform fee difference.

On GroupApp, at any plan, the cost is zero.

For a group program creator with 100 monthly subscribers at $97 per month, GroupApp saves approximately $820 per year in processing fees compared to Kajabi Basic, before factoring in the $1,800 per year platform fee difference.

GroupApp’s structured learning tools, including Enforce Completion, native graded assignments, and automatic certificate issuance, create a learning accountability system that Kajabi requires the Growth plan plus manual configuration to approximate.

For professional certification programs and corporate training delivered to external clients, that accountability infrastructure is not optional.

Other Kajabi Alternatives Worth Considering

The seven alternatives below cover the most common platform comparisons creators evaluate when reviewing Kajabi.

1. Systeme vs Kajabi

systeme.io homepage

Systeme.io was built for budget-conscious beginners and intermediate creators who want a complete digital business platform without the premium price.

The Kajabi vs Systeme comparison is primarily a cost argument at the entry level.

Systeme offers a free plan with 2,000 contacts, 3 funnels, and unlimited course access.

Paid plans start at $27 per month, while the Webinar plan at $97 per month includes unlimited courses, unlimited contacts, unlimited funnels, and 6 custom domains.

On the other hand, Kajabi Basic at $179 per month limits you to 5 products and 2,500 contacts.

The value-per-dollar difference at the entry level is significant.

Where Systeme beats Kajabi: pricing at every level, a free plan for audience validation, no subscription surcharge, no third-party processor penalty, and unlimited courses on all paid plans. For creators starting from zero revenue, Systeme removes the financial risk that Kajabi introduces.

Where Kajabi wins: product delivery depth, coaching infrastructure, community features, branded mobile app, marketing automation sophistication, and overall polish are all significantly stronger. Systeme is functional. Kajabi is refined.

Best use case: new creators validating an audience or offer who need an all-in-one platform at the lowest possible cost.

Systeme serves the pre-revenue and early-revenue stage, while Kajabi serves the established creator who has outgrown budget tools.

2. Podia vs Kajabi

podia.com landing page

Podia was built for solo creators and freelancers who want a clean, simple platform for selling courses, digital downloads, and coaching without the complexity of configuration.

The Kajabi vs Podia comparison is simplicity versus depth.

Podia’s Mover plan starts at $39 per month with 0% transaction fees and unlimited products, courses, and members.

There are no product count limits or contact walls at $179 per month, like on Kajabi.

The Shaker plan at $89 per month adds affiliates, embedded checkout, and additional coaching products.

Where Podia beats Kajabi: lower price, unlimited products on all plans, 0% transaction fees, faster setup, and a simpler interface that requires less learning investment. Podia removes the 5-product wall and the subscription surcharge that frustrate Kajabi Basic users.

Where Kajabi wins: marketing automation, funnel depth, community tools with access groups, coaching product infrastructure, branded mobile app, website builder, and affiliate programs are all stronger. Podia is a product delivery platform that requires external tools for serious marketing.

Best use case: solo creators selling courses, digital downloads, or simple coaching packages who prioritize ease of use and low cost over marketing automation sophistication.

3. Kartra vs Kajabi

kartra homepage

Kartra was built for digital marketers who need maximum control over funnel logic, behavioral automation, and conversion optimization.

The Kajabi vs Kartra comparison is marketing sophistication versus product delivery quality.

Kartra’s Starter plan at $119 per month includes visual funnel mapping with conditional splits, behavioral tagging, full-funnel A/B testing, page analytics with heatmaps, and an advanced automation builder that supports branching logic.

These are capabilities that Kajabi’s marketing tools don’t match.

Where Kartra beats Kajabi: conditional funnel routing based on traffic source and subscriber behavior, campaign-level split testing, deep behavioral automation with tag-based branching, and robust funnel analytics. For creators running performance-based paid traffic campaigns, Kartra’s funnel analytics are more actionable.

Where Kajabi wins: community features, coaching product, course builder quality, branded mobile app, newsletter tool, podcast hosting, and overall product delivery experience are all stronger. Kartra is a marketing platform that handles content delivery as a secondary function.

Best use case: performance marketers and info product sellers running paid traffic campaigns who need conversion rate optimization at the funnel level.

4. Circle vs Kajabi

circle.so homepage

Circle was built for creators and brands who want a premium, professionally branded online community as their primary product.

The Kajabi vs Circle comparison is community quality versus all-in-one breadth.

Circle’s Professional plan starts at $89 per month with full community features, a custom domain, full theme customization with CSS access, structured Spaces, and gated content.

The Business plan at $199 per month adds a white-label mobile app with your branding in the App Store, advanced member analytics at the individual level, and custom CSS for full visual control.

Where Circle beats Kajabi: community visual customization (full layout and theme control versus Kajabi’s banner-and-color-only options), multiple Spaces without requiring a higher-tier plan, individual member analytics, and a community-native content architecture that feels more natural for social-first communities.

Where Kajabi wins: email marketing, sales funnels, website builder, checkout and payment processing, coaching scheduling, and affiliate programs are all outside Circle’s scope. Circle is a community platform, so running a full creator business on it requires significant investment in external tools.

Best use case: creators and brands where the community experience is the primary product, and brand visual quality directly affects pricing power.

If your members pay $500 or more per year and the look of that space matters to premium positioning, Circle delivers more design control than Kajabi at a comparable price.

5. Teachable vs Kajabi

teachable.com landing page

Teachable was built for educators and course creators who want strong student assessment tools, detailed learning analytics, and reliable course delivery without the complexity of a full all-in-one marketing platform.

The Kajabi vs Teachable review comparison consistently resolves to the same trade-off: learning depth versus marketing breadth.

Teachable’s Basic plan at $59 per month (with a 5% transaction fee) includes unlimited courses and students, custom quizzes, graded assessments, certificates, and student progress tracking at a level Kajabi doesn’t match.

The Pro plan at $159 per month removes the transaction fee and adds advanced analytics and course compliance tools.

Where Teachable beats Kajabi: course compliance tools, gradebook functionality on Pro, student progress tracking at the individual level, and a learning-focused UX that positions the student experience as the primary product. For programs that require documenting learning outcomes, Teachable provides the infrastructure Kajabi lacks.

Where Kajabi wins: coaching tools, community features with access groups, email marketing automation, sales funnels, website builder, affiliate programs, and a branded mobile app. Teachable’s marketing capabilities are noticeably weaker.

Best use case: educators and training companies who need structured learning outcomes with documented assessment results and are comfortable building a separate marketing stack alongside Teachable.

6. Thinkific vs Kajabi

https://www.thinkific.com/ homepage showing sign in and talk to sales buttons

Thinkific was built for course creators and organizations that need a dedicated online learning platform with serious assessment capabilities, student tracking, and LMS-grade flexibility.

The Kajabi vs Thinkific comparison is one of the most common in the creator economy, and it consistently resolves to the same question: do you need marketing depth or learning depth?

Thinkific’s Basic plan starts at $49 per month with unlimited courses, students, and no transaction fees.

The Grow plan at $199 per month (comparable to Kajabi Growth annually) adds advanced student analytics, bulk enrollments, and priority support.

Thinkific Plus adds SCORM compliance and enterprise features for larger organizations.

Where Thinkific beats Kajabi: assignment submission with instructor review, more granular student progress analytics, SCORM support on Plus, lower entry price, no transaction fees on any plan, and a stronger instructional design philosophy that positions the student experience as the primary product.

Where Kajabi wins: email marketing, funnel building, community with access group system, coaching product, branded mobile app, and affiliate programs. Thinkific requires an external marketing stack to match Kajabi’s built-in capabilities.

Best use case: organizations, businesses, and serious educators who need LMS-grade learning tools with strong assessment infrastructure and do not need the marketing automation platform Kajabi provides.

7. ClickFunnels vs Kajabi

clickfunnels homepage

ClickFunnels was built for funnel-focused marketers and info product sellers who treat the sales funnel as their primary business asset.

The Kajabi vs ClickFunnels comparison is the clearest example of a marketing-first platform versus a product-first platform.

ClickFunnels 2.0 Basic starts at $147 per month with unlimited funnels, pages, a basic course builder, email marketing, and full-funnel A/B split testing.

The funnel builder offers more flexibility for conversion optimization than Kajabi’s Blueprint system.

Where ClickFunnels beats Kajabi: full-funnel A/B testing comparing two complete funnel versions, one-click upsell sequencing, funnel performance analytics, and a decade-long specialization in conversion optimization that shapes every product decision.

Where Kajabi wins: community features (ClickFunnels 2.0 does not have a native community product), course builder depth, coaching product, branded mobile app, podcast hosting, newsletter product, and overall product delivery quality.

Best use case: performance marketers driving significant paid traffic to info products who need maximum funnel control.

ClickFunnels serves funnel-first businesses, while Kajabi serves product-first businesses.

Who Should Use Kajabi?

Kajabi positions itself as the platform for every creator, but that’s inaccurate.

The platform delivers disproportionate value for specific creator types and creates friction for others.

Here’s an honest breakdown by business model.

Kajabi for Business Coaches

Business coaches running 1-on-1 and small group programs are the closest match for Kajabi’s full feature set.

The coaching product handles session booking, live video, notes, and replay, the course product delivers a structured curriculum between sessions, and the community keeps clients engaged and accountable between calls.

Similarly, email automation sends follow-ups, reminders, and re-engagement sequences without manual effort.

A business coach charging $3,000 per month for a private coaching package, $497 per month for a group program, and $197 per month for a community membership generates $4,000-plus from three active product types.

The Growth plan at $249 per month is 6% of that revenue.

The caveat: a business coach just starting, with fewer than five clients and under $1,000 per month in revenue, should not start on Kajabi.

The platform cost is a significant overhead before consistent revenue is established.

GroupApp at $24 per month or Systeme at $27 per month give equivalent core functionality at a fraction of the entry cost.

Kajabi for Health and Wellness Coaches

Health and wellness coaches frequently use Kajabi for group programs combining coursework, community, and live calls.

The combination works well in Kajabi.

For example,  a 12-week nutrition program delivers curriculum through the course builder, hosts the peer accountability group in the community, and runs weekly live coaching calls through Live Rooms.

The wellness creator market has a high proportion of subscription-based revenue models.

Monthly membership programs are common, which creates the subscription surcharge exposure described in the pricing section.

A wellness creator with 200 monthly members at $47 per month, for instance, pays the 0.7% subscription surcharge on every renewal, adding approximately $66 to the monthly processing cost that the pricing page doesn’t show.

Kajabi for Financial Educators and Money Coaches

Financial educators and money coaches benefit from Kajabi’s course delivery and email automation, but need to account for one specific limitation: the platform is not FINRA- or GDPR-compliant by default and requires additional configuration.

For creators in regulated financial education spaces, the compliance infrastructure must be addressed separately.

The money coaching category uses phrases like ‘money coaching’ and ‘financial transformation’ rather than’ investment advice,’ which typically falls outside regulatory constraints.

For that creator type, Kajabi handles the course-plus-coaching-plus-community model effectively.

Justin Welsh, for example, whose business includes financial literacy content alongside personal brand training, has publicly used Kajabi as part of his creator infrastructure.

Kajabi for Fitness and Yoga Creators

Fitness and yoga creators building video-based course libraries are a strong fit for Kajabi’s unlimited native video hosting.

For example, a creator with 50 or 100 workout videos can upload all of them to Kajabi without paying a separate video hosting fee.

The course builder organizes programs by difficulty level, duration, or style category, while the community challenges drive accountability.

Email sequences upsell members from a $47-per-month base membership to a $197 advanced program.

Kajabi’s mobile experience matters a lot to fitness creators, since most members use their phones for workouts.

The Kajabi Customer App delivers an adequate mobile course experience, while the Branded Mobile App on Growth and Pro provides a more brand-consistent entry point for premium programs.

For fitness creators charging $100 per month or more, a branded app in the App Store is a credibility signal that general-purpose consumer apps cannot match.

Kajabi for Course Creators Selling Information Products

Information product creators (creators selling skills-based courses like copywriting, photography, design, SEO, or marketing) are among the highest-concentration Kajabi users.

The platform’s strength in self-paced course delivery, sales funnels, and email automation directly maps to the info product launch model: build an audience with a lead magnet, nurture with email, convert with a sales funnel, and deliver through a course.

Where this creator type runs into limits is if their business scales to multiple products quickly, because the Basic plan’s 5-product limit forces an early Growth upgrade.

The 2,500 contact limit is also restrictive for creators actively building lists through paid traffic.

These are the standard growth trajectories for an info product business.

What Real Kajabi Users Are Saying

Synthesizing Trustpilot, G2, Capterra, and Reddit reviews reveals consistent patterns that go beyond individual opinions.

This is what the data across thousands of reviews shows about who loves Kajabi, who struggles with it, and the common inflection points.

Who Gives Kajabi Five Stars

Five-star reviewers typically:

  • Have been using the platform for at least 12 months
  • Run multiple product types simultaneously
  • Came from managing several separate tools before Kajabi
  • Are generating enough revenue that the monthly cost is under 10% of their revenue.

The specific Kajabi testimonials that appear most in five-star reviews are the consolidation value (no longer logging into five platforms) and the coaching product (replacing Zoom and Calendly).

“I just liked having everything in one location with Kajabi. I didn’t have to use four different software programs to run my business.”  Verified review by Margaret B., Jan 14, 2026

The email automation tied to course events (lesson completions triggering upsell sequences) and the branded mobile app(improving client perception and sales conversions) also come in a few times.

Who Gives Kajabi One Star

The one-star Kajabi review pattern is equally consistent.

One-star reviewers typically encountered a billing dispute after a free trial period, experienced a technical failure during a critical business event (a live launch, a webinar, a product update), or discovered the pricing restructure without warning.

The most common one-star scenario on Trustpilot is forgetting to cancel after the 14-day trial and being charged the full monthly rate with no refund.

“Despite explaining my situation, the company showed zero empathy or flexibility. Instead, they continued charging my account and took almost $1,000 CAD, even though I never used the platform once.” Billing dispute after trial, Negar Mohsennezhad Jan 27, 2026

Kajabi’s no-refund policy is firm, and support agents are reported to consistently cite policy rather than exercise case-by-case judgment.

For creators who trial the platform casually and forget to cancel, the outcome is a $179 to $499 charge they can’t recover.

Technical failure reports cluster around live events.

Multiple Trustpilot reviewers describe checkout systems failing during product launches, email campaigns getting stuck in an “in progress” state and failing to send, and live room failures during scheduled group calls.

“I have just sat for 3 hours and listened to lies, twisting the situation and then blaming me for remaking my product (I am in the middle of a launch).” Technical failure during a critical event, ACS Feb 2, 2026

The reviewers don’t describe these as isolated incidents; several users note a pattern of declining reliability after platform updates.

Final Verdict: Is Kajabi Worth It in 2026?

Kajabi is worth it under specific conditions.

Kajabi is worth it if you’re an established creator or coach generating at least $3,000 to $5,000 per month in consistent revenue, running courses and coaching simultaneously, and currently paying separately for Zoom, Calendly, ConvertKit, a landing page builder, and a community platform.

In that scenario, Kajabi Growth at $249 per month consolidates $300 to $400 in monthly tool costs into one dashboard and removes several operational friction points.

Kajabi is not worth the price if you’re new, still validating an audience or offer, operating primarily in markets where Kajabi Payments is not available, or building a community-first business where design and member experience quality matter more than marketing automation breadth.

The January 2026 pricing restructure removed the affordable entry point that made Kajabi reasonable for earlier-stage creators.

The $179 Basic plan with a 5-product and 2,500-contact limit isn’t a viable standalone business plan.

The platform excels at product delivery and is the strongest all-in-one tool for coaching infrastructure, the marketing tools cover fundamentals well, and the community is functional but not premium.

My final opinion on Kajabi cost is this: the pricing is high, the fee structure is opaque, and the recent price increase was poorly handled with existing customers.

With that in mind…

Use Kajabi If:

  • You’re an established creator with consistent revenue who wants one login for courses, coaching, email, and payments
  • You currently pay for Zoom, Calendly, ConvertKit, Leadpages, and a community platform separately
  • You run multiple product formats: courses, coaching, community, and downloads under one brand
  • You want a native branded mobile app in the App Store without paying a separate developer
  • You sell high-ticket coaching and want native scheduling, session management, and replay storage

Skip Kajabi If:

  • You’re still validating your first offer or audience
  • Your primary business model is community-first, and brand quality matters to your positioning
  • Your revenue includes significant global subscription memberships, where surcharges compound
  • You need SCORM compliance, gradebooks, or advanced per-student learning analytics
  • You want advanced funnel automation with conditional branching and full-funnel A/B testing
  • You want 0% transaction fees and cohort course tools from day one without a $249/month minimum

Frequently Asked Questions About Kajabi

Is Kajabi free?

Kajabi isn’t free. There’s no free Kajabi plan. The platform offers a 14-day free trial on all plans, but you still need a credit card with funds inside. After 14 days, a paid subscription is required to keep products live and accessible to students.

What is myKajabi?

myKajabi refers to the creator-facing dashboard at app.kajabi.com where you manage your entire Kajabi account. The myKajabi login gives you access to product creation, website management, funnel setup, email marketing, contact management, analytics, and account settings.

Why is Kajabi so expensive?

Kajabi is expensive because it bundles multiple tools that would otherwise cost $400 to $500 per month separately: a course platform, an email marketing tool, a landing page builder, a community platform, a coaching scheduling tool, a sales funnel builder, a checkout builder, and a payment processor. The premium pricing reflects that consolidation.

Can I use my own Stripe with Kajabi?

Yes, you can connect your own Stripe account to Kajabi, but the platform charges an additional surcharge on top of Stripe’s standard processing fee: 2% on Basic, 1% on Growth, and 0.5% on Pro. PayPal is exempt from this surcharge.

What is Kajabi used for?

Kajabi is used to create and sell digital products. Core use cases include self-paced online courses, cohort-based courses, 1-on-1 and group coaching programs, community memberships, paid newsletters, podcast hosting, and digital downloads.
